Genesis Vertical Platform Lift

The Project
|
The Golden Masonic Lodge was looking for a way to provide easier access to their aging two story, split-level building. They were considering full commerical elevators, Lu/La elevators, and vertical platform lifts.
Costs were a consideration: A commercial elevator was going to cost them in excess of $100,000. A Lu/La was going to be somewhat less. A vertical platform lift (including significant building modifications) cost them less than $50,000.
After several board meetings with lots of resistance to a vertical platform lift, we took the board on a field trip to view our Longmont Dental installation. They were so impressed, they made the decision on the spot to go with the Genesis Enclosure.

The Installation
|
This is the lift as it greets you when you walk in the front door. You can travel up about 9 feet, or down about 4 feet.
The side view of the smoked plexiglass enclosure. Taken from the side of the lift at the main floor level.
The upper landing floor. Notice the short enclosure. This could have also been configured with a full-height enclosure, with a full height (6' - 8") door at the top landing. The short enclosure was chosen to preserve the open feel of the space.
The access to the lift from the lower landing. Notice that the lower landing and upper landing doors are on the same side, and the middle landing door is on the opposite side.
